  7. VARNET's Production Planning is driven by MRPII closed loop technology.
  8. Information from VARNET's Inventory Management, Purchase Orders, Bill of
  9. Materials, Project Costing and Production Activity Control modules is analyzed
  10. in conjunction with the Master Schedule to produce a time phased Material
  11. Requirements Plan (MRP). This plan is validated by comparing it to the planned
  12. load to the plants' available capacity. Alternate schedules are simulated until
  13. an optimum plan is obtained. This plan is then implemented by converting
  14. recommended orders to actual work and purchase orders. The loop is closed with
  15. purchase order receipts and work order completions. Other features include:
  16. what-if simulations; net change and/or regenerative MRP; planned order reports;
  17. firm planned and schedules receipt reports; action messages exception
  18. reporting; forecast daily, weekly, or monthly periods; copy forecasts; and
  19. forecast by customer and roll into total; forecasts pegged to customer of I/M
  20. total.
